Home of the future, designed by going back to the origins

FAQ

What is the home of the future, that is designed by going back to the origins?

A five-day immersive design sprint in Seoul where Colman College students explore how to imagine the home of the future by going back to the origins. Through Korean culture, nature, and hands-on creation, participants research, design, and present human-centered, future-oriented interior concepts using the Origin8 Method.
Experience Description

A journey of design and discovery. Over five days in Seoul, students will explore how to imagine the home of the future by going back to the origins. Through the lens of Korean culture, nature, and everyday life, participants will learn how design can become a bridge between tradition and innovation, creating spaces that are more human, flexible, and regenerative. This experience is not about building perfect models- it’s about building new perspectives. Through observation, research, and creative experimentation, participants will reconnect with what truly matters: how design can improve human well-being, nurture our connection with nature, and respond to the realities of modern society.

How It Works

Students will work in small teams, combining cultural immersion, research, and hands-on design.

Each day has a focus: understand, explore, imagine, develop, and share. The program includes field visits to traditional and modern architecture, nature-inspired workshops, design ideation sessions supported by AI tools, and mentoring from local and international experts.

Guided by the Origin8 Method, participants will transform their insights into a concept that is not only original and aesthetic but also deeply human and realistic—ready to be included in their professional portfolios.
